I was born and raised in Chicago and am the oldest of three siblings. Being from the stormy, windy midwest sparked my love for climate and weather. My earliest passion was learning about tornadoes, and at age seven, I declared I would be a storm chaser. This pursuit led to an interest in environmental issues, and eventually a major in Environmental Science at Pitt. This summer, I will be studying renewable energy in Iceland, hoping to learn about their success with green energy,so we can apply those techniques back home. I have continued these interests with my weekly weather broadcast on the college radio station, shoutout WPTS! (Tune in to 92.1 FM at the top of the hour, every hour on Mondays for local Pittsburgh weather outlooks and world weather drama!) Regarding my personal life,my family and I have travelled extensively, all across the globe. Because of this, I have reflected on the differences in culture, political climate, and resource management across countries and continents. My most favorite places I’ve EVER been are either South Africa or the Galápagos Islands. I’m also a passionate artist, first as a classically trained pianist for many years. I found my love for painting and drawing during the pandemic, and often do portraits of my friends and family. .
